Get to Know Me

Dr. Jodi Jarrett (she/her), PHD, LPC, NCC

Dr. Jodi is a licensed mental health professional. She completed her master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of North Texas with a focus on clinical mental health counseling. She is currently credentialed as a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. As a clinician, she has worked with a wide range of presenting concerns including, but not limited, to anxiety, depression, identity development, self-esteem, career concerns, education, military life, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, discrimination, and family issues.

As a researcher, she studies the mental health and resource needs of historically marginalized and underserved groups. As an educator, she advocates by challenging learners to think critically about the role of culture and systems on mental health. She has extensive experience providing trainings and workshops on topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and justice in mental health.

As a Marine Corps veteran, and former non-profit director, her professional identity centers on service. She has served on the board of directors for several veterans, behavioral health, homelessness, and social justice coalitions in Texas. Through these community-based services, she has assisted her clients with accessing legal resources, employment opportunities, veteran’s benefits, and housing assistance, with an understanding of the, often complex, intersectionality of mental health needs.
